Dolly at Jack and the Beanstalk

Dolly has been facing an incredibly tough journey after relapsing with leukaemia at 15, and it’s been a challenging time for her wonderful family as they balance treatment in Bristol with everyday life and caring for their four daughters.

So it was truly wonderful to be able to give this very special family the chance to enjoy some precious time together at the theatre, watching Jack and the Beanstalk at the Bristol Hippodrome on Christmas Eve.

A huge thank you to the fantastic team at the Bristol Hippodrome, and a huge thank you to everyone who has supported Tabitha’s Smile so far — whether you’ve donated, fundraised, spread the word, or bought TabsFEST 2026 tickets (👉 www.tabsfest.com) or volunteered your time. We are so grateful for every single one of you, thank you.

Micaella at Phantom of the Opera

We’re so proud to have given our very first Tabitha’s Smile experience to 18-year-old Micaella Brazil from Bristol, who is bravely undergoing treatment for cancer. Micaella’s mum has had to give up work to care for her daughter, so this was an especially precious opportunity for the whole family to spend some quality time together.

They enjoyed a magical trip to see The Phantom of the Opera in London’s West End. It was a special evening full of music, laughter, and treasured memories.

Seeing Micaella’s beautiful smile reminds us exactly why Tabitha’s Smile exists; to bring joy and unforgettable moments to young people and their families during the most challenging times.

We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful team at His Majesty’s Theatre who were so kind, thoughtful and welcoming to Micaella and her family.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported Tabitha’s Smile so far, from those who have donated, fundraised, spread the word, bought TabsFEST 2026 tickets or volunteered their time. Your kindness and generosity are already making a real difference, helping us create unforgettable experiences like this one.

Jake’s marathon (10th August 2025)

When 17-year-old Jake Cook heard about Tabatha’s Smile, he didn’t just think it was a good cause — he was personally inspired by Tabatha herself, who he had known. Moved by her spirit and determination, Jake wanted to do something special in her memory to help others experience the joy she brought to so many lives.

Last Christmas, he told his parents he was going to run a marathon to raise money for the charity. True to his word, he trained through the spring and completed the incredible challenge entirely on his own, running from Braunton along the Tarka Trail to the other side of Torrington and back, finishing triumphantly in Instow with perfect timing to open the local Instow on Show day on the 10th of August.

Through his hard work, dedication, and generosity, Jake raised an amazing £813 to help bring theatre and music experiences to young people aged 15 to 25 who are in treatment for cancer or life-threatening illnesses — continuing Tabatha’s legacy of light, laughter, and joy.

Sian’s 25K Walk

Sian and Tabs shared a truly special friendship, filled with unforgettable moments and laughter. They spent many evenings together at Bideford Sea Cadets, attending twice a week and making wonderful memories along the way. Before that, they were Girl Guides in Appledore for four years – a beautiful fishing village in North Devon that will always hold a special place in their hearts.

When Sian joined Tabs at Kingsley School, Tabs was so excited! She couldn’t wait to introduce her dear friend to all her classmates and was so proud to have her there.

On 2nd August 2025, Sian took on an incredible challenge — the South West Coast 25K Ultra Challenge Walk — alongside her dad, Neil. Together they completed the event and raised an amazing £180 for Tabitha’s Smile.

What an incredible achievement, Sian! Thank you so much for your dedication, kindness, and support — and for helping to keep Tabs’ smile shining bright.
